Megaranto-Đào Chess Match, Jakarta 2005

Match between Indonesian young star Susanto Megaranto and the best Vietnamese player Đào Thiên Hải ended sharing the spoil 3-3. Đào lost the first two games before took over the lead in the end of the match. It was still a tie, 1-1, in the next two blitz games. The Vietnamese GM finally dispatched Susanto in a sudden death.

Jababeka Women International Chess Tournament, Jakarta 2005

Jana Krivec and Nana Alexandria came out on top. Indonesia hopeful young talent Irene Kharisma Sukandar respectfully claimed third place. An experienced Sri Vidawati was supposed to be less than happy to find her self at tenth place out of 12 players. This was her last appearance in an international event to date.

Wismilak International Chess Tournament, Surabaya 2002

Indonesia registered the country’s 8 best players, excluding Utut Adianto, out of 12 participants in this event. Unfortunately no one could manage to claim the champion trophy. The only girl Antoaneta Stefanova saw off the competition, scored 1.5 points above his nearest contender Indonesian’s Cerdas Barus.
