|PGN 2014.07.21. 77 games. Incomplete. The game of Lindri Widjajanti-Irina Berezina from 5th round is missing.|
1993.02.??-20. Round Robin 13 rounds. 13 players.
The tournament was a double success for Indonesian WFM Lindri Juni Widjajanti. First she got a WIM title. Secondly she won the tournament and went through to the Interzonal scheduled in Swiss.
Lindri had exceeded the WIM requirement by 1 VP. She got the title in round 12 when she drew with Vietnamese Nguyễn Thị Tuân Hóa. This was the first time for an Indonesian player to qualify for Interzonal Championship. The first attempt was made by Baris M Hutagalung in 1960. He was unlucky number two with only one player qualified. Lindri broke the deadlock after 33 years.
Lindri actually tied for first with ex-Russian Irina Berezina of Australia. The first place was going to be decided in a play-off match but Irina returned home to Sydney for health reasons. So Lindri was declared as the winner with no games taking place. Lindri was on fire at that time. A year back she won a silver medal for the second board in Chess Olympiad 1992 held in Philippines.
Another Indonesian player WFM Maria Lucia also grabbed the WIM title. Maria was the bronze medalist of the Girls World Junior Championship 1992 in Argentina.
All in all it was very successful tournament for Indonesia.
