1st Tri Dharma Cup, Bojonegoro 1995

Bojonegoro, a city in East Java, held a national chess event for the first time. The event drew attentions of 80 players from five provinces. The players came from East Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, Bali, and West Nusa Tenggara. The first three provinces practically sent their strongest players.

DKI Jakarta Provincial Championship, Jakarta 1995

The event was almost a mirror of the National Championship with the exception of the absences of GM Utut Adianto and FM Ruben Gunawan. It also served as a preliminary selection of that year National Championship Qualification. Thirty players would go to a further selection to represent the province.

Gunadarma IMs Circuit 2nd Leg, Yogyakarta 1995

The second leg of the chess circuit was off to start after only a couple days break from the first one. The convincing winner of the first leg Filipino Barlo A Nadera ran out of gas. He played only three decisive games and drew the rest. His overall score was less than 50%. The championship trophy belonged to Vietnamese IM Từ Hoàng Thông.

Gunadarma IMs Circuit 1st Leg, Yogyakarta 1995

Non-master Barlo Nadera of Philippines won the event but the host didn’t finish empty handed. Indonesian Junior Champion 1993 FM Bobby Kurniawan scored 8.5 VP that was good enough for the IM norm. Worth noting that Bobby had to suffer two losses from his compatriots, GM Ardiansyah and IM Andi Suhendra, en route to his norm.
