8th Telkom Open Chess Tournament, Bandung 2006

FM Awam Wahono lost to FM Anjas Novita in the ultimate round. This loss made the two players plus IM Nathanael Situru to have same VP, 8.5. Based on PS Wahono and Situru ranked first and second respectively. To decide the eventual winner Wahono and Situru played playoff of two 5-minute blitz games which was won by Wahono.

18 years old Susanto Megaranto took home the cup with 12 VP, one and half points ahead his seniors Nasib Ginting and Awam Wahono. Arif Yanuar became the winner of the shortest game. His opponent got disqualified before even moved the pieces because his cell phone rang.

DKI Jakarta Provincial Chess Championship, Jakarta 1981

Ardiansyah edged out Fabian Lumentut with better solkoff to grab number one spot. Defending champion Denny Juswanto found himself at 8th. The Indonesian first GM, Herman Suradiradja, was anonymous most of the time. Losing to unheralded players like Hengky Wijaya was simply unacceptable for a player of his stature.
